HOW IT GOT STARTED
My story begins on my bathroom floor in January of 2017 as I sat whining to God that no one was accepting my invitation to attend the Bible study at my church. I kept asking God what I was doing wrong. Why wouldn't they say yes, but in the middle of my complaining I heard clearly the voice of the Holy Spirit say "take it to them". "What did you just say God?" As you can imagine, that was not what I was expecting to hear, and so I started bargaining with God. (I don't actually recommend bargaining with God; I'm just telling you what I did.) I told Him I would do this on one condition. He had to give me two people who would say yes. If two people said yes, I would start a Bible study at my office. I went to work the the next day fully expecting to hear "no thank you" from all those I asked. However, God decided to show off a little to remind me that He is who He says He is, and by the end of the day, twelve women had said yes to studying God's word with me.

That has been nearly four years ago, and God has blessed our Bible study beyond measure. We have grown in numbers, but more importantly, women have grown in faith. They are connected to the Vine and I am witnessing the branches bear fruit. It has been the most incredible journey, but recently I felt God's call to go "bigger". I have to admit that I was stumped, so I sat with this thought trying to figure out how to go bigger until it finally dawned on me that God was talking about the weekly devotional I had been sending out to the ladies. You see, when we first started, I sent out a reminder each week about Bible study. Over time, the simple reminder had turned into a full blown devotional. I had also discovered my passion for writing.
God decided the time had come for me to share the words He put on my heart each week with the bigger world (or at least whoever stumbles across this blog), so welcome to my life. It's messy, broken, and I've always said that I get more things wrong than I do right. However, I hope you will also see in me a woman who is head over heels in love with Her Savior as well as a woman who is willing to go where ever He calls.
This blog is dedicated to Jesus, my Lord and Savior, and too all my sisters who have said yes to studying God's Word with me over the years. I love you all. Your Sister in Christ, Lisa
